As Bonn conference on Afghanistan convenes, what is the future of this country after 10 years of Western military intervention? The main issues for the meeting are the upsurge in violence; the transition of security forces as international forces begin to withdraw from Afghanistan; and potential negotiations to seek a peace agreement with the Taliban. What has the West, particularly the US, achieved in Afghanistan over the last decade? How will Afghanistan be governed once international troops withdraw? Will the US military ever completely leave? And was the war worth all the lives lost and billions spent?

I dont trust the government at all, I think that US are doing it all wrong but the US government has been kidnapped by the corporations and there is a propaganda campaign goin on

>this ugly? tajik b***h dont know afghanistan, rt fail
RIght, not "ugly b***h fail", but "rt fail" as much as "typing and punctuation fail" and not "infiltratorr fail" !?
@Sozlled
>Where's ... @Sozlled
>Where's your source?
Same wiki Taliban article's right column linking to the "Leaders: Mullah Mohammed Omar, Mullah? Abdul Ghani Baradar and Mullah Obaidullah Akhund"
To save you the clicks: first two Mullah's were "Mujahideen" berfore becoming "Taliban"
I've seen that documentary years ago on archive*org and parts of it in James Corbett's movie on Al Qaeda. Its main message is clear, AL QAEDA is a creation of western secret agencies, so no news there.
So what if i used ... So what if i used Wikipedia, i? wanted the info to be accurate as i can get. I think adding the quotes would make it obvious i was using another source for the info. Where's your source? EVERYONE needs a source.
I had an idea from watching the GREAT documentary "The Power of Nightmares" which focuses on Islamic militants and fundamentalists, i highly suggest you watch it, 3 hours but it's so good you'll want another 3 hours.
I'll look in to the names and see what you mean.
@Sozlled
Nice ... @Sozlled
Nice wikipedia work there. What you've missed is that right column saying "leaders: Leaders Mullah Mohammed Omar
Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar
Mullah? Obaidullah Akhund". The biographies of the first two names mentioned reveal something interesting...
Real eye opener ... Real eye opener isn't it. I was stunned at some of the stuff in it. I was especially amazed? at Rumsfeld spreading lies about Soviet capability back in the 80's and then comparing it to the lies about Iraq, i mean you could switch the names of the countries and it is virtually the same things he is saying.
Just shows you how insidious and dangerous these people are and continue to be. The world is f**ked and it was done deliberately.
No, that is the ... No, that is the translation and it is from the same root as Jihad, which means "to struggle" or "struggle against". Show me the literal translation that says anything about "freedom"? or "fighters" let alone "freedom fighters".
The Taliban are the Taliban and formed AFTER the Soviet war and fought against other Mujahideen groups under various names. Mujahideen is a catch all word to describe various factions then and now.
What difference does it make anyway?
that was a great ... that was a great documentary.? thanks!
awesome video!? awesome video!?
this ugly tajik ... this ugly tajik b***h dont know afghanistan,? rt fail
yeah man you think ... yeah man you think that the dollar is so powerfull, please. Im sure pakistan need? all those dollars when they have china and russia as their allies, while the fed keep printing dollars and making dollars worth less and less aech time
pakistan is a pussy ... pakistan is a pussy country.? they live on US dollar :) don't hit the hand that feeds you!
ofc they don't know ... ofc they don't know a s**t about? afghanistan. look at this stupid c**t. calling her self american. that is the rule nr one of Afghans. to call them self for another thing than Afghan!
wow the british guy ... wow the british guy was the only one on the right track ...but even still more should be discussed about people taking advantage? of the natural resources (eg opium) and the effect that it has on the length of this occupation ...ppl need to get there head away from side issues like womens rights, nation building etc.. and really inquire on who have benifited from this situation and who have lost out but most importantly WHY
@Sozlled
> ... @Sozlled
> Mujahideen means "strugglers" or? "people doing jihad"
Now you are cherrypicking!
Mujahideen means " ... Mujahideen means "strugglers" or "people doing jihad" and it is used to describe a wide variety of groups that fought the Soviets. Elements of the what? would become the group known as The Taliban were almost certainly part of that war.
Mullah Omar, the leader of the Taliban was part of "Harakat-i-Inqilab-i-Islami" during the Soviet-Afghan War and against the Soviet backed regime from 1989-92 after which many factions were fighting for control, the Taliban came out on top.
I'll be sure to? ... I'll be sure to? take a look at it. Thanks.
I'll be sure to ... I'll be sure to take a look at it. Thanks.?
Wow, someone on ... Wow, someone on Youtube admitted they were mistaken, i take my hat off to you sir, if i had one on :p
It's not hard to mistake the 2 and there were certainly elements of what would become the Taliban fighting as Afghan Mujahideen. Problem is Afghanistan has been in a constant state of war for decades, it's ridiculous. THREE times the British have been in Afghanistan from 1839 to? 1919 and that's JUST Britain.
I highly suggest you watch The Power of Nightmares.
Lol what about ... Lol what about Pakistan invading Afghanistan's sovereignty continuously for the last 50 years, starting the Taliban and stabbing the U.S in the back giving bomb training to terrorists who blow up innocent people in markets? and beat women on the streets. Yeah sure, why not nuke f**king pakistan with your logic and do the whole region a favor.
Forget Iran, pakistan already has nukes and is on the verge of being under Islamist control. NIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIGGHHHHTMARE
ahh ok, my bad, i ... ahh ok, my bad, i mistaken the 2.
Have? a nice day
that bald headed ... that bald headed freak seriously looks like a psychopath. note the dead stare, unmoving eyes, and dead still body movement. There's nothing up there. Just nothing... on a separate note, wtf are you including weird ass freaks like him when we already know afghanistan is a total f**kup, and that the entire populous hates the us. (lol i live in the us. We are going poor. bucke up, tucked your head between your legs, and kiss? your asses goodbye.)
@Sozlled
>The US ... @Sozlled
>The US supported the Afghan Mujahideen
You do realize that "Mujahideen" is Arabic for "freedom fighter" and? the Taliban called themselves that way, don't you?
The lady is totally ... The lady is totally deluded believer in western democracy from hollywood movies and cnn reports. She has no clue of geopolitical games led by the US and goes as far as accusing Pakistan and Iran of being the reason for Afghan misery. She's a joke.
Western-brainwashed immigrants like her are useful idiots in the US-created colored revolutions all around the world. Will they ever realize that it's the aggressive loan-based monetary policy that made the west rich and powerful, not? democracy?

The Afghan People ... The Afghan People can decide their? future for themselves.
Pretty much everybody over there has a weapon for protection.
They don't need the US & ISAF to help them fend off the Taliban.
If they wanted the Taliban out they? would have done so.
